Crafting A New Experience

Crafting A New Experience

Move Over Craft Beer, Craft Cannabis is here!

Craft Cannabis? Oh, here we go. Now that marijuana is nearing legalization everyone wants a piece of the market and is looking to create their own strain better than the other guy.

But will legal weed be the new craft beer? Chris Burggraeve, the former chief marketing advisor for Budweiser, thinks so...

Fighting a Losing Battle

Many alcohol companies have been fighting legalization with fierce apprehension for years. Trying to push back full recreational legalization as far as they can.

Understandable as marijuana is threatening their bottom line. People are choosing to forgo beer in favor of smoking pot. Profits in any state that has been legalized have dropped with Forbes claiming they stand to lose close to 2 billion dollars due to legal weed. OUCH!

Chris Burggraeve thinks they should embrace legalization. Instead of fighting a losing battle why not partner with these growing cannabis companies and get a piece of the market share before it exploded into a mainstream product. Corona, for instance, has partnered with a grow op with their sites on creating a cannabis-infused beer 'although it will not get you high'

So what is it?

A good question. A better being, what does it want to be?

Heavily marketed as not being the run of the mill buds you can get from the creepy dispensary on the corner. Craft marijuana is looking to become a premium option for the cannabis connoisseurs looking to get a better more refined experience.

A practice we have seen steadily becoming more and more popular down south, shop owners have seen more and more people willing to pay more for marijuana that has been tweaked with specific tastes or potency.

As legalization grows ever closer in Canada and expands state to state in the USA. companies are looking to change the negative image of cannabis in hopes of expanding the market to people who have been wary of the product before. Shedding the 'stoner' stigma to try and cultivate an image lose to wine connoisseurs people who enjoy rare or vintage wines.
